It doesn’t allow the individual to go beyond the achievements of your family and friends ,as being different is presented as way of being weird - the feeling of not fitting in.
Breaking this frame might be the only way of becoming who you truly are and eventually achieving your goals in life. A simple way of doing it is a radical break in your social environment and in most cases a change of location.
That takes courage but it’s never impossible!
